Hold your key, talk, release. The finished text is typed at the cursor as if you had typed it yourself. Your clipboard is restored to whatever it held a moment before, so a copied link does not get lost.

There is nothing to install per app and no browser extension. Because the app types at the system level, it also works inside remote desktops and virtual machines that accept keyboard input.

On a Mac it needs Accessibility permission to type. On Windows it asks only for the microphone and types through the standard input layer; Windows does not let an ordinary program type into a window running as administrator, such as an elevated command prompt or Task Manager, so dictation does nothing there. Neither version reads what is on your screen.
